Farewell Christmas and 2012....

I do apologise for the lack of posts I have been an extremely busy bee with my university work and Christmas was creeping around too fast, there were far too many presents that had to be bought. But now it's over I am going to get back into the swing of writing a weekly post.

The months and months of hype over Christmas and within a day it is all over, this day seems to come and go within the blink of an eye as well!
One of the best days for fashion comes just after Christmas and we all know what that is...Boxing day aka Sales day. I imagine many of you have been rummaging through the vast amounts of garments to try and find the best deals but what you need to think about is what to buy to make sure you're bang on trend for next season!

One thing you need to avoid buying is military coats, every Autumn/Winter season we see them and that is the military look but try and avoid them. For Spring 2013 coats are about being sleek and chic, think traditional trench coats in clean colours as seen at Ferragamo.

Another style that you should avoid (I am extremely happy about this) is peplums. This style has been overused and although the peplum was fun and flouncy while it lasted (Lanvin left) the pencil skirt is back in town, for spring. If possible look out for colour block panels, as seen at Hermès (right) for a contemporary take on the ladylike classic.

Of course with Spring peeping around the corner as well, florals again are blossoming on the scene but for this season it seems fiery neon colours are making an appearance.
It as all about prints and colour for this Spring!

Take Louis Vuitton's collection (left), bringing back 60s fashion with the bright, bold checkered fabrics and Marc Jacobs (right) using geometric lines in his own show. With these there will be no shortage of interesting prints and patterns you can mix together to create some attention-grabbing outfits!

So have fun shopping everyone and remember to be wise with your buys!
