DIY Galaxy

Even though some may not confess it, we are all secret space geeks. I, admittedly more than others.

Earlier this year there was a big obsession with galaxy garments, it was popularised by  Chistopher Kane's Resort 2011, and even though it is very much old news but I still very much enjoy all things galaxy, prints and all. Although his collection is a little bit out of price range, with dress and tops starting from £200. I would never spend so much on an item, luckily I was feeling quite crafty this summer and wanted to have a go at making this Galaxy pattern.
The idea came by accident when I stumbled across some of my washing, when I noticed a black top I had in the wash had an orange splatter on it. This was bleach. I wanted to investigate this further and stumbling across other blogs I found out how to create the Galaxy look on a top.
This one I particularly like;

It was very simple to do, all you need is a black top (mine was a bargain at £2.50 from Primark) and a spray bottle filled with a little splash of bleach and warm water. Then just experiment with the spray all over the top.
 I would suggest practising first as you can get different effects depending on how hard/fast/close/ferociously you spray and before your eyes will develop a beautiful galaxy all of your own. Tada!
This is how mine turned out and I have to say I am pretty happy with the result, try it out yourself. Happy Bleaching!
